Ocean County Crawl Space Dehumidifier Installed

Challenge

The owner of this Manchester home contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems due to crawl space moisture and issues from standing water in the crawl space. Upon inspection, Jessica Long noticed signs of water seepage which was creating a humid environment in the crawl space and making a breeding ground for bugs and mold. Jessica also noticed falling insulation and open crawl space vents. Open crawl space vents cause humidity and also make the space very cold in the winter which was causing it to be more difficult to heat the rest of the home. The homeowners also had a plastic tarping which they were using as a vapor barrier, but it was ineffective.

Solution

Quality 1st Basement Systems installed SmartPipe around the perimeter of the basement to work with the SuperSump sump pump to prevent ground water seepage and keep water out of the crawl space. The CleanSpace Crawl Space Encapsulation System was installed to seal off the crawl space from the cold, moist dirt floors. CleanSpace is a plastic liner that protects the crawl space. SilverGlo was installed underneath the CleanSpace to insulate the crawl space. To seal off the crawl space entry, the Turtl crawl space door provided an enclosed entryway that looks great and keeps outside air out of the crawl space.

All of these crawl space products were fully warranteed and designed specifically for crawl spaces. This homeowner now has a healthier, more stable environment for her crawl space and home. This repaired crawl space will improve the air quality throughout her entire home. The homeowners have noticed a significant change in the temperature of their home since insulating the crawl space. She is even able to use the crawl space as storage space!
