A Somerset, New Jersey Resident contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems after noticing the floors on the first level of their home had become uneven. Their home sits above a crawl space area and upon further investigating the issues, they noticed the crawl space beams below were sagging. They contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems through their Retail Me Not flyer that came in their mail. We sent Crawl Space professional, Javier Hoyos Romero, out to provide a full inspection to the problem occurring and provide recommendations on options for a permeant solution.

Sagging Crawl Space Beams

Upon inspection, Javier noticed the sagging beams right away. They lacked support and caused the floors above to sag and created gaps in between the flooring and the molding.

He noticed signs of moisture in the crawl space which had caused damage to the beams and the wood.

SmartJack Stabilizers

SmartJacks are an adjustable pier that is installed against the crawl space beam and floor joist to provide additional support to the floor above. Gradually over time the beams can be brought back towards the original level.
