Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Fiberglass Removed and Crawl Space Encapsulated in Beachwood, NJ

Fiberglass insulation was dripping from the ceiling in this Beachwood, NJ crawl space. The crawl space was wet, humid, had a bad odor, and the homeowner had high energy bills. The homeowner needed a solution and he needed it soon, so he called Quality 1st Basement Systems to fix his wet, dirt crawl space.  Crawl space specialist John Schweitzer came out to the home and inspected the area. He suggested several products that would waterproof the crawl space and insulate it better than fiberglass. Quality 1st Basement Systems installed a crawl space vapor barrier system. CleanSpace vapor barrier is made out of thick plastic, designed to keep moisture out of the crawl space. It was installed along the crawl space walls quickly and easily. CleanSpace will never grow mold, and is water resistant. By creating a barrier between the crawl space and the dirt floors, it keeps out pests, dust mites, and flood waters. In order to make sure the crawl space stayed dry, a SmartSump sump pump was installed. The SmartSump sump pump will now carry water out of the crawl space. To keep the humidity in the crawl space low, a SaniDry dehumidifier was installed. The SaniDry removes moisture, dust mite droppings, and mold spores from the air. It runs quietly on low energy. The fiberglass insulation was removed and replaced with TerraBlock and SilverGlo insulation. TerraBlock is a foam insulation that lays on the crawl space floor, and SilverGlo is a graphite based crawl space insulation. Both of these products work together to trap warm air in the crawl space and lower heating bills. A Turtl crawl space access well was installed, which will keep water out but allow access to the area. They will never grow mold, and will always stay safe and healthy. Now this homeowner is saving money and his crawl space is dry!
