A Burlington, NJ homeowner noticed the floors on the first level of their home were slopping and possibly sinking. They contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to meet with a foundation expert to take a further look and get them some answers. Foundation Design Specialist, Dane, performed a full inspection inside the crawl space and determined that the high level of moisture was causing the wooden crawl space beams and floor joist to sag. This then effected the support of the beams to the first floor above. Dane, recommended installing a Moisture Vapor Barrier to the walls and floor to stop that moisture from passing through. He then said our SmartJack Crawl Space Support System would be the best solution for the sagging crawl space beams since they provide additional support to each section. Each SmartJack can be adjusted over time to potentially raise the beams back towards their original level.
