Void Filling and Sagging Floors in New Jersey
Challenge
When the homeowner of a single family home began to notice sagging and settling floors over his crawlspace, it became a cause for concern. The 1800 square foot property located in Manahawkin, New Jersey had noticeable damage caused from Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The water from the hurricane washed out most of the soil and sand from under the home’s crawlspace, causing the crawlspace columns to sink. The front porch also had noticeable concrete sinking. Upon entering the home Quality 1st Basement Systems quickly noticed the sagging floors above the crawlspace and the cracked, sinking, concrete entrance.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems remedied the problem with a two part repair process. First, the crawlspace columns needed to be stabilized and raised back to a stable position. Quality 1st Basement Systems used the PolyLEVEL Polyurethane Injection Systemin conjunction with (16) sixteen SmartJacks. These products were used to ensure the home and garage floors slab rested on a stable and strong surface. With the use of the PolyLEVEL system, Quality 1st was able to strengthen and stabilize the front entrance of the home. The (16) sixteen SmartJacks were installed to replace the lost support of the beams in the crawlspace and lift the settling/ sagging floors. The Quality 1st crew was able to perform the PolyLEVEL injection in just one day and install the Smart Jacks in just 2 days. The Quality 1st Basement Systems crew was able to restore the home’s foundation and give the homeowners peace of mind.
