Short Hills, NJ Foundation Settlement
Challenge
Mr. and Mrs. Chan's home is a two-story framed structure built in 1950's. They had observed the typical warning signs of foundation settlement for some time, including drywall cracks, and windows that did not fully open or close. Quality 1st Basement Systems determined that the footing from the small addition was not properly tied into the original foundation allowing it to settle away from the original foundation.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems remedied the problem by installing 10 Foundation Support Works Push Piers.
The foundation was lifted up ½" and then stabilized. The Chan's can now reset any doors and windows and make any cosmetic repairs that resulted from the settling foundation.
