Bowing Floors in Mantaloking, NJ
Challenge
The home was constructed on very sandy soil. The interior pillars had settled causing a slight bow in the floor. New furniture and floors above made the slight sag in the floor more noticeable. The crawl space was also suffering from a moisture problem and the main beam was beginning to sag from a high moisture content.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems installed 11 SmartJacks with supplemental triple 2"x10"s beams to help carry the load. Quality 1st Basement Systems also install the CleanSpace vapor barrier and the SaniDry dehumidifier.
The floor was raised and the sag was no longer noticeable while walking thru the main floor of the residence.
"I had received several estimates from contractors who didn't even consider the moisture as part of the problem. Then the designed repairs that sit on the same soil that has already failed me, or use wood which I now know will rot". -Homeowner
