Drywall Cracks in West Orange, NJ
Challenge
Mr. and Mrs. Rivera's home is a two-story framed structure built in 1970's with a small addition on the rear of the home. They had observed the typical warning signs of foundation settlement for some time, including drywall cracks, doors and windows that did not fully open or close, uneven floors. They could also see the foundation slowly dropping away from the addition above. The foundation had settled up to 4".
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems remedied the problem by installing eight Helical Piers™ to lift and stabilize the foundation of the house.
The installation of the Helical Piers™ lifted and stabilized the foundation. The foundation was lifted right back in place to meet up with the addition above. The area around the foundation was backfilled and graded back to level.
