Block Foundation Settling Chadwick Beach
Challenge
The Rossini’s home is a crawlspace built in the 1960’s on block foundation and is timber framed. They have been planning to renovate their home but first had to address the issue of a settling foundation before the problem got worse. They also noticed that their home was sloping front to back, a symptom of settling foundation.
Solution
Quality 1st Basement Systems remedied the situation by installing 9 Model 288 Push Piers™ to lift and stabilize the foundation of the home. L-shaped foundation brackets were positioned below and against the footings and hydraulic cylinders were used to lift the foundation back toward a level position. Each pier was installed at a spacing of 6 feet and were installed in 2 days, with the project completed in 4 days total. The installation of the Push Piers™ lifted and stabilized the foundation of the home. The foundation was lifted 2 inches back in place to meet up with the structure above. The home and floors inside are now ready for any renovating the Rossini's wish to do.
