We use PolyLEVEL to lift and level sunken concrete slabs. PolyLEVEL is a polyurethane foam injected beneath the slab where it expands and lifts the slab back up to a level position. The foam does not erode nor does it wash away with rain.
The homeowner of this Brooklyn, NY home had a demoed basement that was in need of some repair. Wanting to be proactive in protecting this basement from any water damage, the homeowner contacted Quality 1st for an assessment of how best to do so. Our System Design Specialist Carlos went out to the home to inspect the unfinished basement and provide a diagnosis. After it was determined the waterproofing system that would best serve the homeowner's needs, our Foreman Esau and crew went out to complete the installation.
Our TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed in the basement to replace the previous sump pump system, upgrading it to be able to handle higher volumes of water with three levels of protection. To ensure any leaking water makes its way into this new sump pump, our WaterGuard Perimeter Drains were installed in the basement. Resting just beneath the basement flooring, these drains make an out-of-sight channel for leaking water to flow into and find its way to the sump pump. To top it off, our crew encapsulated this space with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. Protecting your basement from water seeping through the foundation walls, CleanSpace guarantees a dry and clean looking basement and no chance of water leaks or mold growth. With the completion of our installation, this basement was completely transformed into a clean, dry, waterproof space.

A homeowner in Brooklyn, New York was experiencing stair-step cracking in the exterior of their home. This is a symptom of foundation settlement and should be repaired right away. Foundation settlement happens because of the constant shrinking and expansion of the soil around the home. During periods of droughts, the soil will dry and shrink. During periods of heavy rainfall, the soil gets saturated and expands in size. If gone unrepaired, foundation settlement can be detrimental to the property's home value.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Steve Ventriglio, was able to provide an inspection of the home and help them find a solution to this issue. Upon his inspection, Steve noticed how the foundation was settling and he suggested they use a pier system to stabilize the home.
Our foreman arrived at the job site and began to prepare for the installation of the Helical Pier System. First, the foreman removes the soil where the piers will be installed. the first pier section is screwed into the ground using specialized hydraulic equipment. Then, a steel foundation bracket is connected to the helical piers and attached to the foundation's footing. The weight of the home is transferred through the helical piers and onto the sturdy soil. Lifting the home back to its original position will be attempted with this solution. When the soil around the area is replaced, the entire system is hidden from view.
The Helical Pier System will bring the home back to its original position, and requires minimal disturbance from the installation. These piers are a quicker installation, rather than a total foundation replacement, which is disruptive and not effective. With the Helical Pier System, the foundation settlement is solved once and for all.
When the job was complete, the homeowner was pleased with the outcome. they were happy with the professionalism they saw on the job, and they did not have to worry about foundation settlement issues any longer.
