A resident in Saddle River, New Jersey noticed their concrete patio was sinking, cracking, and becoming unlevel. This happens because of loose and saturated soil that settles over time. This saturated and loose soil creates voids under the concrete after settling. Unlevel patios and sidewalks can be a danger because a friend or family member could trip and hurt themselves.

The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Dylan McDonald, was able to provide an inspection and help them with a plan. Upon his inspection, Dylan noticed the unlevel and cracked patio and suggested a polyurethane foam to be injected underneath the concrete slab.

Our foreman, Sean Johnson, used the PolyLevel Injection System underneath the concrete. This process is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the concrete slab, and injecting the polyurethane foam into the voids underneath. The polyurethane has expanding properties that allow for an accurate lift and leveling of the slab. The PolyLevel System is lightweight, waterproof, and can be installed in a matter of a few hours. It is also a lightweight solution that will not add weight to the existing soil.
