A homeowner in Summit, NJ noticed their concrete sidewalk in front of their home was sinking and settling. They decided to see what options they had to repair or replace the area. Hoping for a solution that would repair their existing concrete area, they contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems to learn more about PolyLevel! PolyLevel is a light weight, environmentally friendly foam that is injected underneath the slab to fill the void between concrete and the soil. It expands to raise the concrete back towards its original level and then permanently stabilizes it when cured. The homeowner's peace of mind was restored and they didn't have to worry about tripping hazards!
The PolyLEVEL concrete leveling system was used in the den of this Metuchen basement to raise the floor back to its original level. Evidence of sinking concrete included the large gap between the floor and and the walls and a large crack in the center of the floor. PolyLEVEL raised this concrete and was a cheaper, better looking solution than mudjacking.
The PolyLEVEL solution for a trip hazard proposed by concrete specialist Andrew Gagliardi involved the injection of structural grade polymers beneath the concrete walkway slabs through small holes. Foreman Sean Andreas Johnson installed the PolyLevel, lifted the concrete, and in essence, eliminated the tripping hazard.
