A common indicator of water damage in a basement or crawl space is the appearance of a powdery deposit known as efflorescence on the walls. This occurs when water seeps through the porous foundation walls, evaporates, and leaves behind the salts and minerals it contained. A homeowner in Gibbsboro, NJ, observed this buildup on the walls of their crawl space and contacted Quality 1st for assistance in addressing the issue. Our team was able to identify the problem and provide a waterproofing installation to prevent any future leaks or damage. We encapsulated the crawl space with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to safeguard it against water intrusion, along with our Drainage Matting placed on the floor beneath the vapor barrier. Additionally, we installed a Sedona Dehumidifier in the crawl space to ensure optimal moisture control and air filtration. The homeowner can now have peace of mind knowing that signs of water damage are no longer a concern.
