An inspector was sent to this Haskell home regarding sagging and cold floors. The inspector determined that the sagging floors were due to insufficient support in the crawl space. The cold floors and drafts were due to an uninsulated crawl space. Quality 1st Basement Systems installed SmartJacks to support the foundation. CleanSpace crawl space vapor barrier and SilverGlo crawl space insulation were installed to seal off the crawl space keeping the cold air out of the crawl space. The homeowner no longer has sagging floors, and the temperature of his home has improved!
The crawl space of this Haskell, NJ home had been previously "waterproofed" by another company. The vapor barrier that was placed in the crawl space did not work and actually made a more unhealthy environment. Water was pooling under the plastic. Quality 1st Basement Systems installed CleanSpace crawl space vapor barrier throughout the crawl space to seal it off from the cold concrete walls and moist dirt floors.
This homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems about concerns that they had with their crawl space. The kitchen floors of their Haskell, NJ home were cold and he believed there may have been water down there as well. Upon inspection, System Design Specialist, Laszlo Lenkey, could feel the cold drafts inside the crawl space. The cinder foundation walls were cold and damp and rodents were roaming around as well. A SmartSump Pump was installed to keep the crawl space dry. Laszlo recommended a Vapor Barrier System, which will seal off the crawl space from humidity and cold drafts. The SilverGlo liner is a heat barrier which will keep the crawl space warm and therefore the floor on the first level of the home as well.
A homeowner in Haskell, New Jersey noticed their crawl space was attracting moisture and humidity. This happens because the crawl space is not sealed off from the earth's elements, and water vapor from the dirt can rise up into the crawl space air. The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Javier Romero, was able to provide an inspection and he suggested they encapsulate the space. Our foreman, Wilver Cardoza, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System which will seal the crawl space from the earth and prevent moisture from getting in. Now, the homeowner has a clean and usable space for storage.
This homeowner was trying to sell the home but the home inspector informed them that to sell, they would need to install a Vapor Barrier System to the dirt floor of the crawl space. Quality 1st Basement System installed a Vapor Barrier System to the floor and walls of the crawl space to seal it off from the outside environment. Now the crawl space is moisture, water vapor and mold resistant which will protect the home and make it easier to sell.
