After repeated heavy rains caused persistent moisture in their basement, this Edgewood, MD homeowner knew it was time for a permanent solution. Concerned about water damage, mold growth, and potential structural issues, they turned to Quality 1st for expert guidance.
Our team conducted a detailed inspection to identify the exact sources of water intrusion, allowing us to develop a customized waterproofing plan tailored to the home’s specific needs.
To fully protect the basement, we installed a combination of advanced systems. Our patented WaterGuard Drainage System captured and redirected water entering the space, while our TripleSafe Sump Pump provided reliable water removal with three layers of protection, including a battery backup. CleanSpace Wall Panels created a durable, moisture-resistant barrier that prevented mold and mildew while giving the walls a clean, finished appearance. Finally, our IceGuard Discharge Line ensured uninterrupted drainage even during freezing conditions.
Together, these solutions transformed the basement from damp and vulnerable into a dry, safe, and fully protected space, giving the homeowner lasting peace of mind.
This customer was looking to finish their basement and not only wanted to add some natural lighting, but also wanted a quick and safe way to exit the basement in case of an emergency. To make this vision come true, we came out and installed a 27" x 45" In-Swing Egress window with a 66" x 36" Egress Rockwell and Rockwell Premier Cover.
The initial call to our company was for basement waterproofing. The complaint was that water would get into the basement every time it would rain and then it would just progress with every rainfall, more and more water was getting in. When we got out there to assess the water issue, it became apparent that there was a problem with the customer's foundation. To correct these foundation issues we installed two push piers and seven, 8' Power Braces.
Push Piers are installed and locked under the home's foundation, allowing the weight from the foundation to transfer from the unstable soil to the stabilized piers. Power Braces are installed by anchoring to your basement floor and floor joist. The Power Brace is designed to be tightened over time and can potentially reverse the failing wall.
This customer reached out regarding the concerns of a bowing basement wall. We were able to stabilize the wall by installing our CarbonArmor Straps, which is fiber reinforced polymers that are 10x stronger than steel. The fiber is flexible enough to tightly hug the wall, allowing homeowners to stabilize the foundation quickly and prevent further bowing.
At this home, the owner was getting a strong musty smell from the back room of the basement and noticed water was coming in through the cement blocks. As you can see, the water coming in through the corner is causing the discoloration and smell. We dug out the trench along the foundation to install our WaterGuard sub-floor drain that captures any wall seepage and then flows down into the sump pump system. Once the drainage system was installed, we placed our BrightWall paneling, which is designed to be an effective moisture and vapor barrier, to keep the basement dry from water.
