This front porch in Franklin, NJ was experiencing major concrete settlement. The homeowners chose Quality 1st Basements to help them come up with a solution for their sinking concrete. A resident in Somerset, New Jersey noticed their concrete walkway was sinking. This can happen because concrete is poured over recently backfilled soil around the home. Overtime, this loose soil settles and creates a void under the concrete. They called Quality 1st Basement Systems and our System Design Specialist, Dylan McDonald, was able to help them with a solution. He suggested a polymer foam to lift the concrete back to its original position. Our foreman, Victor Leon, installed the PolyLevel System which is a polyurethane foam that is injected underneath the slab. This is done by drilling small, penny-sized holes into the slab and the polymer foam is injected into the voids. This foam has expanding properties that will allow the slab to be lifted and leveled.
