Quality 1st Basement Systems installed CleanSpace vapor barrier in this Monmouth County crawl space. By encapsulating the crawl space, water vapor and dirt will stay out. The liner also helps protect the wooden crawl space beams from rot and humidity.
A homeowner in Oakhusrt, New Jersey was experiencing water in their crawl space, as well as showing signs of mold. Exposed earth contributes a lot of water vapor into the crawl space air. The earth is damp and as damp soil dries beneath the house, the water vapor moves upward. Groundwater seeps and leaks get into many crawl spaces as well. The negative effects of a wet crawl space are, mold, smelly damp carpets, increased heating and cooling bills since damp air takes more energy to cool and heat, and even mold upstairs.
The homeowner contacted Quality 1st Basement Systems and our foreman, Jonathan Neira, installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System in the crawl space. This vapor barrier is thick like a pool liner and will stop vapor from flowing up from the soil. Any rocks or debris in the craw space are removed and uneven surfaces are leveled. The foreman carefully fitted and installed the liner, and held it in place with drilled-in fasteners and spikes. Check out this transformation!
