This homeowner from North East, MD had long struggled with a damp, musty crawl space that affected the comfort and air quality of their entire home. To put an end to the moisture issues, they encapsulated the crawl space with the CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing the floors and walls in a bright, durable liner that locks out humidity. To further protect the space, a sturdy vent cover was installed over the exterior opening, preventing outside air, pests, and moisture from entering. Now the crawl space is clean, dry, and properly sealed, giving the homeowner greater efficiency, comfort, and peace of mind.
In this North Eastern home, the basement was unfinished and the crawl space area would get high levels of water during rain. The homeowners tried to assess issues with simple fixes that would eventually lead us to go out to install our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system. In this dirt crawl space, we were able to remove existing insulation, objects around the space and hauled away to dispose of. This encapsulation is designed to prevent vapor from ground moisture into the crawl space and this antimicrobial finish protects from mold, mildew and pests.
In this dirt crawl space, the owners were in need of encapsulating the space and wanted to make sure that it would remain dry. Basement Systems installed our CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system and wrapped each pier with the CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. We also removed and hauled away insulation that was between each ban board and debris had fallen into the space over time. Lastl,y we installed our SilverGlo insulated wall panels around the perimeter of the crawl space to prevent any air drifts or growth of mold, rot or mildew.
At this North East residence, the owner reached out regarding a spot in the home that was beginning to sag. The home was built in the 40's and it has additions in 3 separate sections that were added later on. We had reason to believe that a beam from below in the crawl space was failing so the team went out and corrected the issue by installing our SmartJack Floor Support System. This system will lift and the existing beams, which will protect against any further movement.
A wet crawlspace or basement is not something any homeowner wants to deal with when they move into their new home and with this knowledge, this customer knew, before they could put their home on the market, they would need to correct the issue of a leaky crawl space.
After we sent our inspector to evaluate the crawl space, he saw that the customer already had a working sump pump in play, but there was no way for the water that was getting into the crawl space, to get over to the sump pump. Right away, he knew the solution to this wet crawlspace was our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier and our Waterguard. The Cleanspace will direct any water intrusion down to the WaterGuard, which will then direct that water over to their current sump pump to be pumped out of the crawl space.
